Search engines’ revenues keep on increasing

Chinese search engines continuously see their revenues grow. They have experienced an increase of 36% between 2014 and 2015, and of 25% from Q1 to Q2 in 2015. In the second quarter of this year, their earning had reached 20.03 billion yuan.

Which factors impact the search engine market ?

A few factors influence the search engine market. First we can see that the weak macroeconomic environment has had a negative repercussion on the market. On the other hand, the mobile canal has had a positive impact on their revenues. The mobile market is indeed still (always) booming and mobile searches have boosted the whole activities of search engines.

Who is leading in China on the search engine market ?

The search engine market is largely dominated by Baidu. The giant’s total market share gained some more points from Q1 to Q2 in 2015 and reached nearly 83% in this year. Its followers are Google China with 8% market share, Sogou with 4.5% and 360 Search with 3.6%.
